This course is designed to help students develop an understanding and appreciation of the effort and challenges of starting, managing, expanding, and consequently, succeeding in retail business.  In this respect, we will cover the major functions that comprise the retailing tasks, the decision tools applied, planning, strategy formulation, implementation, and control in retail management.  Students will have opportunities to explore the retail business in several contexts both the local Thai environment and the global market. 

Course Objectives

- To develop knowledge of retail strategies including merchandising & category management, retail marketing strategies, retail site selection and mall development analysis, people management, and essential financial metrics.

- To familiarize students with the decisions involved in managing store and non-store retailing and in developing a sustainable competitive advantage in retailing by employing concepts and principles for making those decisions.
